Native for macOS and iPad

Fix your music's tags. Leave everything else alone.

Winnie Audio Tag Editor fixes the tags in your MP3, FLAC and AAC files. Open a folder, correct titles, artists, albums and cover art, and save. Your audio is never re-encoded.

No account. No internet connection. Your files never leave your device.

Winnie on macOS: a folder tree on the left, the files of an album in the middle with File, Title, Artist, Album and Year columns, and the tag editor for the selected track on the right.

Edits are written straight into your files.

No library to import into and nothing to export. Only the tags you change are rewritten; the audio and every other tag stay exactly as they were.

Features

Everything you need to tidy a music folder, and nothing you don't.

The eight tags that matter

Title, Artist, Album, Album Artist, Year, Track, Genre and Composer, on every supported format.

Cover art, untouched

Pick a JPEG or PNG and it is embedded exactly as it is, without being resized or recompressed.

Edit several files at once

On the Mac, select a whole album and set its artist, year or cover in one go. Tags that differ are left alone.

Your folders, as they are

Open a folder and browse its subfolders in a tree. Search a folder by file name or title.

Nothing saved by accident

Unsaved files are marked in red until you save. Save one file, the selection, or everything at once; Undo discards unsaved edits.

Choose your columns

Show any tag as a column in the file list and drag the columns into the order you like.

Genre your way

Type any genre, or switch to a dropdown and keep your own list of genres: add, rename and remove them.

Control over MP3 tags

Write ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4, pick the text encoding, and keep a file's modification date when saving if you want to.

Light, dark, English, Spanish

Follows your system appearance or stays light or dark. The interface and the built-in user guide come in English and Spanish.

Bulk edit · Mac

One change, a whole album.

Hold ⌘ or ⇧ and click to select several files. Type in a field and the value goes to every selected file.

  • Fields that differ between files show “Multiple values” and are left alone unless you type in them.
  • Choosing a cover applies it to every selected file.
  • Save writes all of them together.
Four files selected in Winnie. The editor shows “4 files selected”, with the shared Artist and Album filled in and the Title field reading “Multiple values”.

File list

See the tags you care about.

In Preferences, drag columns between Shown and Hidden and into the order you want. A preview shows the heading your list will have.

  • Any of the eight tags, or the file name, can be a column.
  • Prefer not to drag? Clicking a column moves it to the other list.
Winnie's File List preferences: a preview of the list heading, a row of shown columns (File, Title, Artist, Album, Year) and a row of hidden columns.

Appearance

Comfortable at any hour.

Winnie follows your system's light or dark appearance, or you can pin it to one in Preferences.

Also on iPad

The same editor, on iPad.

Open a folder from the Files app and edit its tags with the same three-pane layout: folders, files and the tag editor side by side.

  • Works upright or sideways.
  • The same tags, cover art, columns, genre list and preferences as on the Mac.
  • Keyboard shortcuts work with a hardware keyboard.

Selecting several files at once is available on the Mac.

Privacy

Offline by design.

Never connects to the internet

Winnie makes no network requests at all. There is nothing to send and nowhere to send it.

No data collected

No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no account. Your preferences are stored on your device only.

Only the folder you open

Winnie reads and writes inside the folder you choose, and nowhere else.
