Effective 7 October 2026 · Applies to Winnie Audio Tag Editor for macOS and iPad
The short version
- Winnie does not collect any data.
- Winnie never connects to the internet.
- Your music files and your preferences stay on your device.
Who we are
Winnie Audio Tag Editor (“Winnie”) is made by Pawapps. If you have a question about this policy, write to [email protected].
Data the app collects
None. Winnie has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party code. It does not make network requests of any kind, so nothing about you, your device or your music is sent to us or to anyone else.
On the App Store, Winnie's privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Your files
- Winnie can only read and write inside the folder you choose with Open Folder. Access is granted by you through the system's folder picker.
- Tag and cover-art changes are written directly into your audio files on your device, and only when you save.
- To reopen the same folder next time, Winnie keeps a system bookmark to it on your device. You can turn this off in Preferences ▸ General (“Reopen last folder”).
- Your files are never uploaded, copied elsewhere or shared.
What is stored on your device
Winnie saves your preferences locally using the operating system's standard settings storage: language, appearance, tag-writing options, the file types and columns you show, your genre list, and the bookmark to your last folder. This information does not leave your device.
Purchases
Winnie is distributed through Apple's App Store. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your payment details. Apple's handling of your information is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous crash and usage statistics. Winnie itself does not collect or send this information, and it cannot be used to identify you.
Children
Winnie does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and do not share it.
This website
This policy is about the Winnie app. The pawapps.com website is separate: it uses PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed, the referring site, and browser and device type. The app contains none of this.
Changes to this policy
If Winnie's handling of data ever changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
