Clips are copied but not pasted

If picking a clip puts it on the clipboard but nothing appears in your app, Sticky Clipboard can't paste for you. Here is how to fix it.

3 checks · Sticky Clipboard

Allow Accessibility access

Open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Accessibility and make sure Sticky Clipboard is turned on.

Sticky Clipboard uses this permission for one thing: sending ⌘V to the app you were using after you pick a clip.

Allow it again after an update

After an update, macOS sometimes needs the permission again. Turn it off and on, or remove the app from the list with the minus button and allow it again.

Check Paste Into Active App

In Sticky Clipboard, open Settings ▸ General and make sure Paste Into Active App is on.

Pasting without the permission

Without Accessibility access, picking a clip copies it to the clipboard and you press ⌘V yourself.

The shortcut doesn't open the panel

Another app may be using the same shortcut. Choose a different one in Settings ▸ Shortcuts, or open the panel from the menu bar icon.
