When a file won't save

Winnie Tag Editor shows which files failed to save. The cause is almost always one of these four, and each takes a moment to fix.

Is the file locked or read only?

Make sure the file is not locked and that you are allowed to change it. On a Mac you can check both in Finder with File ▸ Get Info.

Saving rewrites the file, so the drive needs some free space. It also must not be write protected.

Close it in any player or editor that has it open, then save again.

If the folder was moved, renamed or is on a drive that is not connected, Winnie Tag Editor cannot reach it. Press Open Folder and choose it again.

Your other tags are safe

Winnie Tag Editor edits eight tags. Any other tags in your files are kept when you save; they are just not shown.
