Getting started
What is Juliet Player?
A music player for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and CarPlay that plays your own library from your Subsonic or OpenSubsonic server.
Do I need my own music server?
Yes. Juliet Player streams from a server you run, such as Navidrome, Airsonic or Gonic.
Can I try it without a server?
Yes. Tap Try Demo Mode on the welcome screen to explore a public demo library.
Which servers work?
Any Subsonic 1.16.1 or OpenSubsonic server, including Navidrome, Airsonic and Gonic.
Does it work with Plex or Jellyfin?
Not directly. Juliet Player talks to servers that use the Subsonic or OpenSubsonic standard.
What do I need to sign in?
Your server's address plus the username and password you already use for it.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad on iOS or iPadOS 17 or later, plus Apple Watch and CarPlay.

Free for 7 days, then $6.99 once. No subscription.

Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once through the App Store.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Connecting
Can I listen away from home?
Yes. Add a remote address next to your home one.
How does it pick home or away?
It tries the local address first and switches to the remote one on its own when your network changes.
Can I switch manually?
Yes. In Settings, the Connected to row lets you pick Home or Away.
How do I make my server reachable outside home?
Usually through an HTTPS reverse proxy, a forwarded port or a VPN back home.
Where are my credentials stored?
Only in the iOS Keychain, never in plain text.
Listening
Does it support gapless playback?
Yes. Albums play without gaps between tracks.
Does it work in CarPlay?
Yes. You can browse and control playback from your car's display.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
Yes. Control playback from your wrist.
Can I use Siri?
Yes. Ask for a song, album, artist or playlist, including in CarPlay.
Does it show lyrics?
Yes. Time-synced lyrics appear once you set up an LRCLIB-like lyrics service.
Can I control playback from the Lock Screen?
Yes, from the Lock Screen and Control Center.
How do I build a queue?
Add songs while one plays, then open Queue to reorder or remove them.
Are there mixes?
Yes. Favorites, Top Rated, genre mixes and Artist Mix.
Offline and data
Can I listen offline?
Yes. Download albums, playlists or tracks, and Offline Mode plays only what you saved.
Do downloads finish in the background?
Yes. They keep going after you leave the app.
Will it use a lot of mobile data?
No. By default it streams Opus at 64 kbps on mobile data and 96 kbps on Wi-Fi.
How do I free up space?
Clear cached images and metadata from Settings.
Privacy
Does Juliet Player collect my data?
No. No analytics, ads or tracking; it only talks to your server.
Does my music go through Pawapps' servers?
No. Everything goes straight from your device to your server.
